Is this the NEXT GEN Aventador? Lamborghini SC20 COUPE
Lamborghini Aventador in-house racing department, the Lamborghini SC20 is a one of a kind build made specifically for a customer who wanted something special.
Lamborghini wanted to take what they’ve learned from the track and the aerodynamics from their most recent models and concepts and transfer that into a street legal car without having it be an already existing model.
The designers said they used the Diablo VT Roadster, the Aventador J, the Veneno Roadster, and the Concept S as sources of inspiration and if you look in the back, the graphics has a strong resemblance to those on the 2020 Lamborghini Sian which in turn was inspired by the Countach.
The front of the Lamborghini SC20 feels less sharp than the Aventador. It feels like it has a larger surface area and me personally, I love the chamfers in the body panels. I’ve always been a fan of huge chamfers in combination with graphic design in cars. It’s something that’s been missing recently and I’m glad to see it back.
The design of the SC20 is 100% Lamborghini though with intersecting lines, massive vents and sharp angles. In the back you have a more aggressive design than we’re used to seeing on the Aventador and it also comes with a massive wing with three positions called low, medium and high load in addition to a deep diffuser and vents that let hot air escape the engine bay.
In a very Lamborghini-like fashion, there’s no electrification going on here in the powertrain even though the Aventador successor is supposed to go at least hybrid. But this beast of a machine is powered by a naturally-aspirated 6.5-liter V12 which produces 770 horsepower at 8,500 rpm and 531 pound-feet of torque.
It’s got 4 wheel drive connected to a seven-speed automatic transmission giving it a 0-60mph time in under 3 seconds.
