Is the 2023 Toyota GR Corolla a better performance car than a Civic Type R?

The NEW GR Corolla is here and Toyota is ready to take on the competition. This car goes up against the Elantra N, VW GTI, Golf R & Honda Civic Type R. This hot hatch has a 1.6L turbocharged inline-3 that pumps out 300HP & mated to a 6-speed manual with AWD. On the outside of the Circuit Edition you will find a power bulge hood, carbon fiber roof, and 18in wheels. On the inside there are unique seats, digital gauge cluster and 8in infotainment system. Is the 2023 Toyota GR Corolla a BETTER performance car than a Civic Type R?
